Cannot get branching to work

You are not supposed to check the box to select the question, You need to click on the Question title in the third column

I have not been able to get branching to work, as follows:

1. When you select "new" and choose an action, you are asked to select a question. See screenshot 1.
2. When you click "select", you are taken to a screen with the list of questions. See screenshot 2.
3. On the "questions" screen you can select a question by checking the box next to the question. The is no other apparent functionality. When you close the screen via the "X", the question that you selected does not populate on the branching page.
