You can't add field for custom product because it is hard-coded in the language file for the listing available in "Design Type". If you want to add custom text you need to create different text fields for same products in different languages.

Hi

We have our own products (not bottle/cake etc)

We create our products using custom design and adding our own picture.
(e.g. 6 products All using custom design all with different background pictures)

What do we call the field for each custom design product?

In virtuemart product >> custom field tab you use >> vdesigner product option as 'Bottle'. As seen in attachment file

Thanks, that sounds great.

can you give us some advice on how we do this?
e.g. in the language file it has this -
DESIGN_YOUR_WINE="Design your Wine"

Which virtuemart field do we use for our product? ie "DESIGN_YOUR_WINE"

Hello,
One extension has just 1 language file. No matter how you are using the extension. Product A, B both will use the same language file. There are separate keywords for each product in the same language file.

I'm a bit confused.

I have two products:
Product A I want the initial sample text to say "Text ONE"
Product B I want the initial sample text to say "Text TWO"

I install the VMdesigner extension ONCE.
So i only have ONE language file.
Are you saying I need to install a new version of VMDesigner somehow for each product?

How do i differentiate between the text for the two products ?
As you do on the demo - How do you do that? (as per attached screenshot)

(PS I am using version 2.0.6 and NOT the Beta one)

Yes, Every extension has got separate language files for each language installed on the website.

In your demo you have different text for different items.

How do you define the string each product will use?
Or the screen position, font, size (per product or custom field)

I notice there are several options in the language file - but the documentation does not say where to specify them

Can you tell us how we configure the default text that appears on the vdesigner product?

How do you remove it?
Change the wording?
Change the size or position?
