Possible to import categories from other database? was created by Ni BU
Hi,
Before buy your product, Could you tell me if is it possible to import categories from a website (not Joomla, not Wordpress,etc... it's a web development of my society). So, how could we do to import the categories please ?
1- Is it possible to import them in the same time with the articles ?
2 - Do we have to import categories from one profile first ? In this case, which fields are required ?
Thank you for your answer.

Hi,
- You can import data from any Website belong to any CMS / Framework using the remote Database connection feature available in vData.
- You need to create two Profiles, One is for Categories and another for Articles. You need to import categories first and then Articles. Required fields depend upon the component wherever you are importing the Data.
- You get a few profiles created by default with vData for Categories, Articles, Menus & Users. You can use these profiles directly, you won't need to create any profile by yourself.
- In case of Categories the required fields are Title, Alias, Parent ( use reference to option to Category table itself, Please check the documentation for detailed explanation )
- In case of Articles the required fields are Title, Alias, Category ID ( Use reference to option to Category table )
