XML import from other site

I'm trying to import an rss feed to articles in my site but just coming up with errors...

I've tried making a copy of the xml feed and uploaded it to my site - dealgetr.com/TEST/merchant-feed.xml

If I do this I can get the import process to work, but I don't want to have to constantly update this file on my site if there is a way to grab the information remotely

When I put in the Absolute Path as the location of the file on the other site (i.e. othersite.com/merchant-feed.xml ) I end up with errors

Is there some step I am missing to be able to read from another site?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi,
Sent you an email. You need to use Cron Import option not the feed import. It's working fine with this option selected. Please check the attached screenshot.

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

Yes, I got it to work with Cron on my site but that's not the problem... I'm trying to get it to work from a site feed that I do not own. I'm just getting back errors when I try though.

www.rakuten.com/feed/merchant-feed.xml

I could only get it to work if I were to copy the xml file and put it on my server but that's not practical for what I need to do.

thanks,
Matt

Hi,
You can use Cron for that purpose as well. With Cron, you can get it to import data from a site feed that you do not own.

Thanks
Daniel
