How do I set up the import to bring in associated IDs and fields from other tabl was created by Melanie Vrummell
Hi,
I am just beginning with VData and have a couple of questions.
I have OSProperty by Joomdonation and want to set up automatic updates to import from another (source) database so that when a new record is added it creates a new record in my osproperty database, when a record is updated it amends the record in my osproperty database etc.
Am I approaching this right:
1. I created a profile for my OSProperty database following the instructions and set it to Update and chose my 'properties' table.
2. I am creating a source import now, and I can select all the fields from my source table. However I have 3 other associated tables that need the data importing at the same time i.e. property_address, and 2 fields from 2 other tables to get the agent_id and company_id
I can only seem to select one table from the import fields list. How do I select those other tables? Without them my record will not know where to place my incoming properties (against a company and agent).
I did wonder if I need to do something with the profile i.e. add joins? but I am unsure and it doesn't say in the instructions.
Any help would be most appreciated
Kind regards
Mel

Hi,
Yes, you need to edit profiles and use Joins to include other tables, Please check the documentation here: www.wdmtech.com/vdata-documentation-setup-profiles
