Thanks for the quick reply.

After I last posted, I exported the entire user database and opened in Excel. I then pasted in the additions and checked for duplicates on usernames and email addresses. No duplicates found. I checked for username length and special characters not allowed in username string. If Joe Smith was jsmith, a new user with the name John Smith would be something like jsmith082014 or jsmith_082014.

Hi,

Users records you are trying to import do have at least one record with the username which is already there in Database.
e.g. You are importing a user with username "abxxx" and there is already a user with the same username in Database.

Thanks
Daniel

Username in use error message was created by Ronald D Rodgers
I have a file of about 109 users I would like to add. The format of the csv file is:

Name Email Username Block Register Date Account Activation Params User Group
Alxx Bx axxx@yahoo.com abxxx 0 9/1/2014 0:00 {} 18

When importing, I get the error message shown in the attached file. "Username in use". I exported the existing user database and ensured that no user name in field "Name" was named "Username". I also stripped row one from the CSV file and assigned fields manually.
