Here is css file location modules/mod_hex_slider/js_css/hex-slider.css and you can also copy css from demo site www.joomlawings.com/hexsys-article-slider . It will be great if you share your site url where you setup article slider.

How can I get the module to center? I am capable of editing CSS or performing other actions with some direction on where to find the file and understanding what variables to add alignment.

I am using the Hex Article Slide in Joomla 2.5 with the Joomlashine Boot Pro template. I have several problems. The module aligns left - I want it to align center. The module does not resize well in responsive templates on mobile. Finally, and perhaps the whole answer... Where can I configure the module parameters such as background color, alignment, etc.? I can set up which articles to show easily enough, but the marketing information says that background color and more should be configurable.
